What was so wrong about merging a duplicate thread into an existing original thread?

Mitchy still won the contest, and I was personally asked by XYZ to change the title to 2 Million. How many spam threads do we really need in the OTF for all of the, maybe, 25 people who still frequent this forum?

Jesus, if I had known people would have been so up in arms about this decision I made then I wouldn't have done it. This wasn't an act of malice; it was a mod decision to clear up clutter. I re-opened the General Discussion Thread and left the (now) 2 Million post thread open. How many threds are needed, really?

Don't think that this was a joke. I think Imp meant well and thought he was doing a good thing. Problem is just that he's completely out of tune with the OTF, so he doesn't know what the people posting here want.
