The size of the Sun compared to the largest known stars (red giants) is not very big. However, if compared to the most common type of star in the universe, the red dwarf, the Sun is quite a bit larger. Thus, the Sun is not the biggest type of star in the universe, but it is definitely larger than most.

Game played against a higher ranked player, who trounced me the match before.
Happily, the rematch turned out differently. Nearly always better for me, against higher ranks, when I make the match a nearly instinctual "fight" rather than trying to go by recommended formulas ...
First step: Attack by drawing, then retreat.
Unless and until an opponent's bishop gets in my way.
In which case, unless there's extraordinary reasons not to, I'm taking that bishop out. And no one need think I'm going to do anything to protect a bishop on my team, either. I don't like them, and I don't understand them.
Stupid bishops ...
My opponent tries to put me on the run, but I'm not trying to draw out pawns for the sake of breaking up his starting defensive structure anymore, so I fight every step of the way. He makes a move or two I don't understand, then gives the opportunity to trade off rooks or trade off bishops.
What's the wise choice to make?
Anybody wondering what choice I was going to make in the last scan above didn't read what I just posted.
After retiring the bishops, though, the clash of major powers afterward revealed to my opponent that he would soon face either a one or two move mate, or two powers versus only one of his, and thus he resigned.
Losing game.
My opponent was ranked more than 200 points higher, but I'm still pissed I lost.

A win here, but only by time.
I'm somewhat pleased I can give higher ranked people enough pause that their clock runs out, but I know I've got a ways to go yet ...

In the game above, the first major source of confusion for my opponent were my proffered Knights. I retreated the first time he attacked one with a pawn, but, after he castled, essentially dared him to take one. It took him at least 9 moves until he felt his position strong enough to take either of them ...
My opponent was cautious for good reason.
Although castling is arguably the greatest single defensive move in the game, it IS possible to use that move against someone. I ALMOST managed to do so, despite the sacrifice of my Knights. Note my dark square bishop being blocked by my own pawn here. His King is in a world of trouble if that logjam clears.
But his own knight delayed that from happening long enough for him to make a comeback ...
As a result, he ALMOST breaks me before the time runs out.
I suppose I've got to learn to do more with bishops, eventually...
I should make clear that the biggest reason for my opponent feeling pressured here is my rook at the bottom left of the screen. All other pieces have been cleared from the vertical line it sits on. Thus it has what is called an open file.
That's a direct result of him castling, me not, and him accepting my knight sacrifices. It almost cost him the game outright, despite him having more material. Next time I play him, I'll try to make sure there's no "almost" about it.
