If chess is sponser to thought and motion then you can get a distance of 2 to the factor of 3. So newer moves can occur without loss.

In the sense that an engaging distraction can spur a man past crippling doubt and/or inaction at times ... especially in the realm of academia ...

Yeah, I could see that.

Random thought 1001:

Given the relatively recent offerings of DC, I'm tempted to say the artists of yesteryear put a lot more care into their work ...

Then I remember how just a few days ago I watched a special on Vince Coletta, a man of the 60s and 70s who was in such a rush to get work done on time that he often eliminated background artwork completely:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RZs836b449M

Having said that, I'm yet considering that less effort sometimes yields better result. For the case of comic artwork and storytelling in particular, I'm thinking of the artists who penned fights of Supergirl versus Martian Manhunter and Miss Martian, respectively. In the latter, the artist went through a lot of trouble to create what looks like a color hold image that confused fans, as demonstrated by online comments. For the former, nothing at all was drawn to represent Manhunter. However, this worked remarkably well and communicated clearly -- because in both cases Supergirl's antagonist had turned invisible!

Supergirl seems to have a strange ability to showcase the good points of other characters. Then again, maybe I'm looking at some kind of cameo effect.

Don't often get to see displays like this from Wonder Woman, for instance, where Diana's actually doing something that demonstrates she has physical strength greater than say, Batman in her own comics:

This would be typical.

Daredevil could and would do as much with Captain America's shield.

However, not quite so typical is the follow-up:

This is something you'd see from an old Superman Max Fleischer cartoon, and that's probably what any longtime fans think of when they see this.
However, people forget that this sort of action was not just on TV, but depicted in the comics, frequently, ESPECIALLY in Wonder Woman's own comic, where the writers understood that people had to be SHOWN strength displays from time to time, not merely have it suggested or hinted at from time to time.

On the other hand, if she's largely relegated to guest status in her own book, even as Wonder Woman is in HER own book, the writers at least get the intrinsically helpful nature of this kid, right, as even in a severely compromised state, she behaves responsibly and compassionately:

And if you have to have a hero versus hero tussle, this one's not TOO bad:

Illustration of the above game; a fun lark played against a lower-ranked.
Opening is the Preston Ware defense, which I know practically nothing about save the name. Set up loses my Queen (the Black Queen), but I couldn't care less ...

I wanted to test myself by giving myself a handicap against this guy, but I think he lost track of where my pieces were for a moment, possibly 2 moments.
He stripped me of nearly all defense with a gambit that I had to put him down for, else get taken out myself. The game was interesting, though, and promises lessons to teach; I'll doubtless run more experiments like it in the future:

Sarah Scott. A shot from MvC2.
And Laura V. something-or-other on Smallville about a decade ago.
Time really flies ...

Game played against a higher-ranked.
Lost because of time, but only because of time ...

Game above; Latvian Gambit opening, me as Black.
Opponent thwarts the bishop sacrifice variation by capturing with his knight 1st.
Sets up knight-bishop attack on f7, which I effectively block out.
Both of us castle, recognizing early that we're in for a fight with each other ...

My technology betrayed me, not permitting me to go further.
Stopping point was decisive, allowing for the game losing delay.
Should have been aggressive and captured the pawn with my rook; that would have moved things to conclusion in my favor quite quickly ...

Below, except for last one and perhaps one more, is largely random.

Michael Knowles Show. The 6:23--9:33 & 9:33--10:10 sections are things you don't normally hear, the former, especially, is an interpretation of some Genesis 3 verses I've NEVER heard interpreted in such a way ...
Not sure if Knowles is actually right here, but it IS interesting to hear his point of view.

Game against a now slightly higher-ranked ...

I'm starting to wonder if the website doesn't clear Elo progress/regress every week roundabout Thursday -- I was at least 200 points higher than the 1681 here just 2 days ago.

Game was interesting; opponent chose to match my Ware opening with what I seem to remember is called Modern Defense but I'll have to check.
I think MD is meant to go against someone playing as White who is orchestrating from the center, at any rate, and I was doing just the opposite.

Review is sometimes helpful; I was scratching my head as to why he allowed my knight to live after I ignored his pawn threatening it somewhere 'bout the middle of the game. "Playing back" through the visuals, I finally understood he was saving his rook, which even people with 3 days worth of experience know is more valuable than a knight. It would have been taken out by my bishop, 'cause it was sitting at the end of a long diagonal I didn't even realize I controlled.

Playing against the odd angles, "hidden" pieces (even I lost track!) and initially-seeming "nonsensical" moves that suddenly proved devastatingly effective may have discouraged him; my opponent gave up before move 20.
