I can pinpoint the exact moment horror movies stopped being able to affect me. And it had nothing at all to do with a movie.
I read Dean Koontz's book "Intensity" and in the first chapter the character I assumed was a Main got slaughtered in the most brutally casual way possible and it outraged me to such a degree I was physically ill.
From that moment on I was determined not to give a single solitary fvck about any character in any TV or Movie ever again.

The US revolution was a bad idea and I blame the French for enabling it.
Jefferson becomes embassador to The France, they tell him taxes suck and how they should be independent, he writes the declaration to his fellow slave owner friends who write a constitution about how they'll govern. British ships sail to collect tax, France and Spain sink half our navy because they're still butthurt about us being the only true Normans, and then Washington leads a bunch of peasants to kill almost all of what was left. France gave you a big statue for humiliating England, and then the founding fathers decided upon a bill of rights which included:
1. Separation of church and state, freedom and speech and religious beliefs. All slave owners shall be as mean and brutal to their slaves for they are his.
2. The right to bear arms. Runaway slaves could hurt the free man's plantation, so guns are necessary.
etc.
