I was a professional, no women no kids no civilians. My personal thoughts on war is soldiers vs soldiers if it has to be. Other men higher up on the chain of command may think dirty tricks are a part of war and a good way to demotivate the civvies from helping aka Insurgents but it just creates very motivated individuals bent on vengeance and that's no good for anyone, look at the Middle East it's jam packed full of that sort and round and round they go until doomsday.
