I was just remembering from my GCSE German. Spoiler: I didn't do very well.

Different words in different regions may mean different things, however they're so close to the original word you can extrapolate the sentence based on context.

The German lyrics "Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen" translate to "I am lost to the world" in English.

That's all fine and all, but it literally translates to, "I am the World abandon comst"

Ich habe genug (original: Ich habe genung, English: "I have enough" or "I am content"😉,

Some nuances get lost in translation, because English is a cobbled together language.
