All the characters in the show have asperger's, which is the joke. Bob and his oldest daughter are shy and awkward regarding social interaction, whereas his younger daughter, son, and wife are hyperactive with weird hobbies and interests. Also, I'm pretty sure the young girl with the bunny ears is psychotic.
