Allow me to recount an interesting conversation I had with my sister:
"Comics are stupid."
"You have no right to an opinion cause you've never read a comic."
"Well, you don't like my music, and you don't have the right to an opinion on that."
"I've heard your music. Sounds whiny and discordant."
"Well, I've looked at the covers of your comics passingly, and they look all-around stupid to me."
"It's not the same thing. Comics are meant to be read. Music is meant to be listened to. It takes about two minutes to read a comic."
"It is the same thing. You may have heard my music, but you haven't just sat there and listened to it for... at least a half hour" (first of all, I have, cause i've been in the car with her) "and you don't know the bands, and you haven't researched the individual members and you don't know where they come from."
At this point I precede to argue that that is not the same as just sitting down and reading a comic, which she refuses to listen to. This isn't an exaggeration at all. Explain my sister's logic.
