me too kool-msn I also like then one when Chris had the talking zit...but I degress...so who are some of the mutants who still have thier powers.....I know cash cow Wolverine still got his mutant mojo right?
the 198 is to do with the mutants that are second stringers, so there is potentially way way more than 198
I read on newsarama there were around 2,000,000 mutants, if its been reduced to 2% thats 40,000 mutants left π.... that doesn't even cater for every freaking mutant thats appeared since since the 60's.... so there should be NO CHANGE
why oh why did Bobby lose his powers, I need an explanation arghhh
Heres some interview with Bendis about Post House of M which is pretty interesting:

There were millions!
Mutant population is down more than 98% or something close to that.
Sorry I didn't say the correct number, ass. π

There, botherby did the math. Happy?
And that article--very interesting...

heh reading that second post mortem makes me side with it all... I no longer harvest the anger I felt about Iceman initially, in fact now I'm happy about it in a sense.... great stories will come out of this hopefully, if the writers have their game faces on.
I agree. β
Besides, when Marvel gets a new Editor-In-Chief, everything will go back to normal. π

A few observations. Bishop has powers (Why?). The Cuckoos are still empowered (yay). Emma still has her secondary mutation. Elixir is still a mutant... but is he still an Omega? Beak and the female Angel have lost their mutations but one of their weird kids is still a mutant (Again: Why?).
No one can really say why Wanda left a select amount of mutants with their powers. They are dispersed throughout the world though.
It's my understanding that those who were present at the final battle are the only mutants who remember the final battle; not the only ones who kept their powers. π
I assume that's why you were asking the question anyway.

NRAMA: Some more specifics β Iceman is without powers?BB: Heβs without powers.
NRAMA: Was there debate?
BB: Oh yeah β there wasnβt a change on the list that wasnβt debated. You could ask [X-Men editor] Mike Marts β his ears are probably still bleeding over the debate.
If we were going to do this β you know youβre not gong to get all the X-Men to be depowered, but you want to get as close to the inner circle as you possibly can.
NRAMA: So they still suffer a loss, even if itβs not specifically the loss of their powers?
BB: Right. If Xavierβs school is the capital of mutant-land, you want to get as close to those doors as you can.
NRAMA: Was Bobby your idea?
BB: For this aspect of it, I left it up to the other writers.
NRAMA: So you just suggested that someone near the core of the X-Men should be affected?
BB: Yeah, I felt we should get as close as possible, and make the move as ballsy as possible. If we were going to do it, we had to do it. It also came down to who has the most interesting story to tell afterwards.
NRAMA: And the reaction on the page where Bobby shows up β Cyclops seems more sad than anything, as if heβs just got hit with the personal toll, since this is one of his best friends, not one of the students he saw on the groundsβ¦
BB: Right. And making it hit that close goes back to one of the stories that affected us all as writers, and that was the death of Thunderbird in X-Men #95. He was there, and he was gone, but still β he was one of what we all thought was the core team. From there, the gravity was real β anyone could go at any time. You didnβt necessarily feel that on a lot of books, but you did there. I wanted to bring that feeling into the mansion again, and I wanted it to be one of the original five mutants.
