where can i get dc character bios?

is there a site on the net that is like marvel directory for dc? i dont know much about dc and would like to know about characters mentioned in the vs forum. i looked all over the net last night to no avail. you will be my friend for life if you help me.

thanks a bunch. i feel stupid now because i was looking at some marvel bios on wikipedia.
