during their fight obi wan pointed two fingers at grievous, why. ive always wondered. it must have some significance because he does it again after he takes out the droids. it looks like a pretty deliberate action and i cant think of a reason for it.

Same reason why he drives GG's starfighter with his forefingers pointing front

....
It's imitation of how kung-fu actors do it in cinema. The sign is used in almost all HK martial arts scenes. Jen in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon does it a lot if you remember.
It was just weird seeing Obi-wan do it.

It was odd, but ok.
Probably giving his apponents a 2 out of 10 chance of winning.

same thing as when Yoda struck a Kung-fu pose and grunted in AOTC...which i really hated. Such a mockery of the wise-old master.
It's also a ninja pose in popular media. Shiet, the Power Rangers did it too (footage from Japan).

Yoda was just stretching his body and let the force flow through him.

None know the art of combat here. Obi-Wan did that with his fingers in order to say 'I'm ready' or 'Bring it' to Grievous.
