I know, but since I was just using him in passing I didn't want to dwell on him, so just went with one of the things people identify him with as a reason why he would be "in hell" - I actually considered using the Marquis De Sade since I have just finished reading 120 Days of Sodom.

An interesting man to be sure, it would definitly have been intriguing to have invited him over for a swanky dinner party.

I've been told No Exit was better, but i've never read Sodom.

I just get sick of people who think the holocaust was just about killing Jews.... 1 in 2 ... the odds weren't even that good!

I agree, characterisation and plot in Sodom are fairly light, but then as an exploration, as some say, of depravity one can't expect to much. I was quite taken with Sartre image of Hell in No Exit. A good piece.

And yes, it is unfortunate it has become an incorrect historical image with Hitler and the Jews, with so many other groups forgotten about who suffered similar.

But then again certain groups have always drawn attention, both positive and negative. Few in the modern world know much of the Kurds or Armenians or the like.

Yah. We'll, the Kurds have come more to light to Americans since the Iraq occupation.

True, but it seems to mainly have been the Iraqi Kurds, and even in that case people think things are fine with them now, while they still face persecution elsewhere.

They should take care of their own problems just as every country did, and yet we did and the UN divide up the lands...................otherwise............let them that are behind the rest of the world work it out themselves...............It's all about religion.............sorry nukes might be involved...........we should ban them, and that is the only good thing about the UN,.

Well... technically some people (ok a lot of people) feel nations should step in a put a stop to oppression/genocide of groups who aren't in a position to take care of their own problems.

Then if the US would not be involved who would be?..........Sorry to say that many nations are knocking at our door................hmm............who could take over???

I don't and many don't want us in this possition...............so what could be done?

Should we let the other nations duke it out like most did in the past?
