Kari smiled, trying to act brave as she stared at her foot. It hurt but she ignored the pain and walked with her newfound companion. She was about to take a step forward when the man from earlier hopped down. With a yelp of fright Kari jumped and hid behind Taisa. She was trembling and whimpering softly. His words only made her more afraid as she stuck closer to the wolf youkai. She was too frightened to act brave now. That... thing was here!
Kiyo grabbed Tai and kari by the arm and ran into an adjacent alley. Before she could scream he covered Karis mouth with his hand. "Shh..." He whispered. "We aren't alone.." A small figure lept across the rooftop above them and a bulky one right behind it. "I'm guessing you two were being spyed on, because I haven't had company in a while. Tai, do you have anybody that might hate you and wish to kill you?" He asked. "Because I really have no reason a demon would come after This one.." He pointed to Kari, his hand still clasped over her mouth.
Kari gasped as the thing grabbed her. She felt herself dragged to the alley. "Oh Kami, he's gonna kill me!" She looked at Tai and felt a sudden protective strength wash in her. With tears running down her cheeks she flung her leg up and kicked Kiyo right between the legs. She bolted away from him. "Common!" She motioned for Taisa to follow her, this was their chance to get away.
Kiyo bit into his lip as he regained his composure and sat up. "NO!" He shouted just as they took off. A bulky figure towered above Kari and grabbed her by her arms. "I got her master! I got her!" The hulking man said in triumph. Just then several kunai hit the demon in the back. "GET AWAY FROM HER!" Kiyo screamed, transforming his Rei weapon into twin Jurs and slashing at the hulking figure. The demon let go of Kari to turn around and face the threat, It grabbed Kiyo around the waist with one of its massive hands. "RUN!" Kiyo screamed.
(( just me kiyo and kari got attacked..thats all )) Tai snapped back at Kiyo, then jumped at their persuer, snapping her thick jaws onto his neck, after taking him down she landed in her human aspect and touched the ground. An ice spear stabbed through him ripping his stomach open, she then gave kiyo one final glare before darting after Kari, in her wolf form again, towards Genkai's temple.
Kiyo lay stuck under the brute. "Damnit Tai.." He grumbled, slicing through the demons back with a dagger. He stood covered in guts and flesh. "Ugh... Better go get cleaned up... I still need to speak with Koenma.." He sighed, walking out of the alley and to his apartment. Once there, he quickly washed himself and spiked his hair.
LATER
Kiyo walked into Koenmas office to wait for him. "Where is that little kid.." He mumbled.
Kari was in a daze. She had wanted to help the stranger yet her new friend was insisting she went. Kari had to go. She followed the wolf/ice youkai as best she could, considering her kimono gave her legs little access. She looked at the temple as they arrived. It was a nice place, very decent. She looked down at her cut. It had gotten worse. Kari sighed dismally and muttered, "Itee.." As she rubbed it gently, trying to act as if it didn't hurt her at all.
Kurama had been with Hiei. The two had done some wandering alone discussing the current situation, and how the old gang was back together again. Hiei still pretended to be unconcerned for the wellbeing of his "comrades" Kurama could still see through this charade.
"So what have you been up to as of late Hiei?" He asked his friend.
