The confederate soldiers, even in defeat, begun to cheer and clap and shake hands with General Chambers. Some started to chant 'Long live the confederacy' while others chanted 'Long live General Chambers!'

The confederacy was finished gathering up everything they needed and started to head off with the wounded on horses.
