But "the fu....... costume", oh my god, its simply too crappy to be real.
Come on, dont accept it just because is the first superman movie in almost twenty years, its a real piece of sh...
I dont care if singer is a fan of the fleischer cartoons, that is not superman, that is not the superman emblem, that is not how superman looks like.
DEAL WITH IT AND ACCEPT THAT SINGER IS REALLY SCREWING THINGS UP BY MESSING WITH SOMETHING THAT WAS PERFECTLY OK.
Routh, i dont know him, ive never seen him acting, i like the voice, much better than welling pre-teen sissy voice, and i think he could do it nicely if given a chance.
But please, just accept it, if you want to replace christopher reeve, at least dress the character in a decent way. I'm not opposed to changes in the suit, the suit has been changing for decades, but that simply is not Superman's suit.If you want to a good new superman movie, wait until Richard Donner´s version of Superman II comes out in DVD. I'm sure its gonna be great.
That´s all folks.

Look, I have qualms about the suit myself, but it looks like were gonna have to accept Singer's version of it. You yourself wrote, quote "I'm not opposed to changes in the suit, the suit has been changing for decades, but that simply is not Superman's suit." Than what is Superman's real looking suit look like since, as you said, the suits been changed for decades. Thats a few times. The thing is, is that there is no perfect Superman suit. I've seen about a dozen or more versions of the suit.
The suit does look different but it's what audiences may come to like and even get used too. Just like getting used to Routh as Superman. I had a big problem with the casting of Toby McGuire as Spiderman, now i can't imagine anyone fitting that role better than he did. I felt real good about "Batman Begins" since i first saw that trailer almost a year ago, i think during the Super Bowl, Jan '05 and I was exited. I feel even more optimistic now, with "Superman Returns"
Oh yea, and the part with the citizens all looking up in silence, was just amazing. It was as if they all saw Superman just zoom by, and thats the first time they had seen him. Imagine that. People that are in a rush and busy as hell, just stopping to look up at the sky, up at Superman. I'd stay looking up too, even if I was late for a good job. I'd be like "Holy Shit"..
