Best Trilogy Ever!

You're an idiot if you didn't think that The Lord of the Rings trilogy was epic. I'm not getting carried away here as The Godfather is my favourote trilogy... but anyone who thinks that LOTR is a bad bunch of films is very deluded. They are beautifully shot, well written and a lot of the acting was very well done... add the intense battle scenes and you've got a great series of films. They're not perfect but what do you expect when you've got about 10 hours of cinematography?

This is another lot of films that suffer from "They're popular and therefor I must dislike it... as to not conform." syndrome.

Did I say they were the "best friggin movies ever"? No.

*I* enjoy the trilogy because Peter Jackson created a totally unique, atmospheric world in which a timeless journey takes place. The movies showcase an inspiring tale of friendship, self-sacrifice, morality, good vs. evil, etc. all on a grand scale. The acting is fantastic, the visuals are unforgettable, the action sequences are amazing, Howard Shore's score is fitting and extremely effective; the list goes on. The Lord of the Rings trilogy is an epic in the best sense of the word, a series of films that fit together perfectly - no film in the trilogy is a weak link - a story that will never go out of style or get old because at it's core it's human, and it has heart. Again, it's timeless.

Oh, and it's the best adaptation of Tolkien's books anyone could've asked for. Tolkien's world and vision totally comes to life in Jackson's films.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll just respond with some asinine comment.

Oh, also I have fond memories of seeing these films on December 24th in 2001, 2002, and 2003. Some of the best movie theater experiences of my life.

Totally forgot to mention the score... Which was ****ing amazing.

Man, I really disagree with that table.

I'd have to say Lord of the Rings, and The Man with No Name Trilogy's are my favorites.

This is easily The Godfather. The first two films are classics with the third being more than solid.

I've grown out of Star Wars.

i take back what i said about beverly hills cop being the greatest.

the live action TMNT films were the greatest, even back in time, and i know what you're thinking, but it was pretty sweet.
