Unless the writers have just been messing with the audience with all the clues and junk I think that they're all hooked up to some kind of mind simulator or something. Either that or the people who brought them there did alot investigating.
I mean, think about. The monster that does all the crazy stuff and all the clues. How could it possibly happen in real life? Well, its just another crazy theory anyways.
