The Jedi Art may be thousands of years old but some of the immortals themselves are thousands of years old, I know Yoda is or was very old but not immortal old, and some of them don’t get to be five thousand years old by swordsmanship alone.....it's through being sly and cunning.
The rules of immortals wouldn't come into it, so the playing field would be open for trickery and in some cases magic. Quite a few of the immortals know magic and illusions, even to a point of tricking the senses of other other immortals, when they can appear as multiples of themselves (Highlander 3) other immortals that are also wise to these type of illusions and are able to defeat such magicians.
Again if the Immortal rules do not apply, maybe several Immortals could attack at once, because as we know the rules between immortals, can hinder and protect them when on holy ground and fighting more than one at a time.
Can a Lightsaber work underwater ? Because an immortal can function quite well underwater. I know the Jedi can use his breathing thing but how long does it last, so therefore a Jedi could be vulnerable underwater if his Lightsaber wouldn't work.
