Most Realistic War Movies

I would say, in my opinion Black Hawk Down and Saving Private Ryan.

I concur.

We Were Soldiers. IMO, the most accurate portrayal of war and unity among soldiers. Also, it was my proud honor to be assigned to the very same unit of the men portrayed in the movie, 2nd Battalion 7th Cavalry Regiment. When I was stationed at Ft. Hood, I was at Alpha Company 2/7 CAV.

Ones I've seen, "Saving Private Ryan" (my favorit one) and "Platoon"

I have to agree with everyone else. Platoon and Saving Private Ryan are the most realistic.(not that I would know).

As far as the life of a marine, It's by far Jarhead.

We Were Soldiers was extremely accurate, in my opinion. ✅

as for actual war and not the emotions i would say saving private ryan and black hawk down. I am not a fan of saving private ryan, i think spielberg hollywood-ized what could have been the most well rounded realistic war film. For the war itself, i dont think i have seen a more visceral portrayal though.

also, cant forget Braveheart.

Braveheart had realistic battle scenes but the movie was historical inaccurate.

I meant nothing other than the battle scenes. The strategy to weaponry and attire was very realistic.
