Even British people can "fake" certain British accents because not all the accents from this country are the same. I can fake accents from other parts of England, not necessarily London though. I have my own accent, I forcefully changed it but I can't possibly say what it sounds like because I can't "hear" myself well enough.
A couple people here have heard me though.
It's easier for Brits to fake a US accent because US accents are more prominent around us than British ones are around Americans.
