Congratulations. It only gets you so far...

"Not one of my better ideas," Arvus says, snarling slightly. "I hate this planet. I hope it burns."

Is Lyle out of Fortune?

Either way, he takes off in Arvus' ship and heads back to the relative safety of the army,
"It'll burn," he mutters, "I'll make sure of it."

So now we wait for the army to breach the walls, and use that time to join the army looking for Drakkon?

Okay, I have some strategic ideas. ( I hope Coll doesn`t mind).

Ush, as I understand our biggest problem are those Osokans armed with guns? And most of them are currently on the walls?( aerial observation of the city should tell us this).

So how about this: we surround the wall with AT-AT`s, so each of them can cover one part of the wall with its firepower. Then, immediately after the shield is off, AT-AT`s all fire at the walls, and at the same time Star Destroyes fire from orbit at the parts of the city sticking to the walls, so those Osokans defending the walls are caught between our fire. After our enemies suffer haevy casualties, infantry will enter the city proper. Does it sound plausible?

I already had planned to do so with the AT-ATs, as soon as the shield dropped.

Other than that, I have no issue with it.

Well, in that case, having burnt/blown the tendrils away, lyle and Rylius and Arvus can get to safety! No more rebels to annoy you either. Phew!

And so, there only remains the battle...

Revenge time for Arvus!

And now time to kill things. Well, more things. Hehe.

(Rylis will re-fuel her flamer at this point, btw. Kinda would like to not have to do that in the middle of a fight with an Osokan or something)

Let's do this

Ok, let's lay out how this works.

---

This battle will be fought in two ways- a strategic section, and tactical scenes.

The strategic section will show the movement of your forces around the area, where they are going to go next, showing who holds what ewtc. The Strategy players are responsible for deciding strategy.

All battles are fought by the rolling fo dice which will give results in a table. However, 'heroic action' can shift battles one step in your favour, as if yuo had rolled better. Heroic action is performed by players playing tactically, who have placed themselves in areas on the strategy map where a fight is taking place.

For these players, there will be small fights about a suitably dramatic situation- a small part of the fight, but representative of how much they affect the fight in general. Do well in these tactical scenes, and the battle will go better for you as well.

Of course, if players from both sides are in the same fight, they are going to meet in the tactical scene...

Now, two important points here.

1. STRATEGY SESSIONS ARE CONDUCTED VIA PM

Imperial surveillance will give them a general idea of where Osokan forces are, but no hope of specifics.

The Rebels have no surveillance but can just look at where the Imps are outside the walls, giving them a general idea of where things are.

But the absolute situation, where you are moving forces to and who is attacking what, remains unknown.

2. TACTICAL PLAYERS REMAIN IGNORANT OF THE STRATEGIC SITUATION

Tactical players can say where they want to be each turn, but they do that in ignorance of what those in command are doing (though you may receive orders from the strateg players).

That's the general setup. Any questions?

Isn`t Coll the most important strategic player though?

And this should be very interesting....

Yeah, lets do this!

Ush if no one objects , can I please replace Gen Lomax. I mean You are starting a new battle right now.

Janthis cocks his Shrapnel Grenade Launcher. Is pig burning time.

Coll patiently awaits until the shield has been dropped.

"Lock and load, gentlemen," Coll says, a hint of satisfaction in his voice.

Contiuing my step my step build up...

Strategically, there are fives areas within the city- Centre, North Arm, East Arm, South Arm, West Arm.

Starport is in the south, all the Government buildings in the centre.

For convenience, even though the city is roughly cross-shaped, we assume that none of the outside locations connect to the city centre. So the eight outside sectors are:

Outside North Arm (West)

Outside North Arm (East)

Outside East Arm (North)

Outside East Arm (South)

Outside South Arm (West)

Outside South Arm (East)

Outside West Arm (North)

Outside West Arm (South)

There is also a generic 'Imperial reserve' location

Each area (other than the reserve) can contain four units (that's four for each side, not four between you).

What constitutes a unit?

Well, to start with, each SD carried ten Stormtrooper units (so a thousand men each), one artillery unit, three AT-ST units, two speeder units and one AT-AT unit.

Some of that has been reduced, of course.

I think that we lost at least three Stormtrooper units in the jungle accidents.... how many AT-ST though?

We originally had...

30 Stormtrooper units, 3 Artillery units, 9 AT-ST units, 6 Speederbike units, and 3 AT-AT units.

After our losses due to the Raptor Attack, the Sauropod Attack, and the Air Battle, our numbers stand at...

27 Stormtrooper units, 2 Artillery units, 8 AT-ST units, 6 Speederbike units, and 3 AT-AT units.

We might have lost more.

You lost some units going through the jungle.
