Well, if Lyle's in and decides to be near Rylis and I can use his charges, I want to blow open that elevator as that will make it much easier for us to take it.
If not, then I want to jetpack over to the building as close as I can (like, we're talking just about touching it) and then dropping down to the ground, flaming through the slits they're shooting from on the inside on my way down, and then ducking down out of sight and using the walls as cover (since they kinda can't shoot through them).
Any other currently running games have openings? Realistically speaking, and if i have permission, an AT-ST should take down a wall with little ease depending on the mineral make-up of the materials and what the wall is made from...A dura-steel heavy blast door may take alot longer, again depending on the actual mineral make-up and actually what the metal it is made from...anyhoo it also heavily depends on how many AT-STs and are they under fire from the Osokans? Hope that may help! :-) anyhoo the top question still stands!
It all depends on Ush's game system as opposed to facts, though. And so far, Osokans haven't actually fired at the walkers with their blasters...
There is the New Jedi Order game being run, but I don't know much about it.
In any case, please post in THIS thread from now on- http://www.killermovies.com/forums/f7/t2847.html - to prevent interruptions in the game.
Party is starting.
The ST's start to blast away at the warehouse. This will likely cause Osokan casualties but it's going to take a while to breach it this way.
(You're lucky. This fight is based on the German/Russian battle at the grain silo in Stalingrad, which was also fed by a large elevator. The Germans shelled it, bombed it, tanked it, had men on three sides... it took them weeks to take it and when they finally did they only found forty dead bodies in the elevator where the resistance was centred. This fight is only going to take an hour.
One of the big lessons of modern urban warfare- as reflected in this game- is that war machines do not work as well as you think. You need men on the ground doing it the hard way.)
Arvus- you cannot precision fire with a Heavy Weapon, so that's taken as a general Heavy shot on the warehouse itself, adding to the attempt to breach it. Your shot blows open one of the smaller doorways, revealing a barricade behind it. They've done their best to block the entrances.
Rylis jetpacks over to the side of the elevator. Jetpack speed moved her pretty fast; she only has to take one turn of firing before reaching the edge of the building which takes her out of line of sight of the defenders inside.
Eerin- having to hold your action. Sonic blaster is useless at this range.
Kyle gets blasting away at stormtroopers, as does Scarlet, who scrambles into the eleavtor shaft to fire southwards.
Troopers start to close! Vicious exchange of fire going on. Some osokans are being blasted bacjk by heavy shots; more are suffering from building damage caused by the STs.
-
Atop the walls, Ranad and Sasha blast away at nearby troopers. I am having to hold Rhys' frames.
Janthis- the troopers will climb when they can but they cannot whilst the approaches are blocked. You can grappling hook up easily, though.
A lot of janthis' troopers seem to be taking a personal interest in Rhys...
(Incidentally I misstated the number of top wall Osokans- corrected)

Ok then this time Janthis will divide all the snipers he has into two groups.
One group to fire on Rhys and the other to start firing on Captain Ranad on the Top Section of the wall.
And the troopers not on climbing the wall will be ordered to began firing at the Osokans on the Mid section of the wall.
Janthis will order the men on the top section of the wall to form up in mass while I have the AT-ATs and AT-STs fire a volley on the top section hopefully into more a concentrated section of the Osokans. Along with the large AT-AT/AT-ST volley Janthis will have any Rocket guys instead of climbing began rocketing the top section of the wall. If for some reason the war machines can not fire at this distance Janthis will have them moved up so they can. Regardless he will Rocket attack the Osokans.
Once Janthis gets to the Mid-Section he will have any near by men form up on him and began firing at the Osokans. Janthis will take a shot at Rhys with his Heavy Blaster.
Hmm...
Would it be possible for Arvus to use his skills with Sabotage to jury-rig some of his explosive ammo from his railgun to blast through the garbage blocking our route in? Or maybe create a new door? 😛
Arvus will advance towards the Warehouse, firing off another shot from the railgun, in any case.
Originally posted by Captain REXWell they need to get there. Oh well the tactics remain the same have my guys group together so they are not intertwined the Osokans whil my rockets guys blast away at the groups.
I don't think that the walkers are in range to support you, Janthis. Not yet, anyways.
And if the Walkers aren't in range Janthis wants them moved up so they can be. 😛
It seems that Duchess is repeatedly fighting in this battle- won`t there be enough eye-witnesses to provide evidence against her after the battle is done? It isn`t like there are more than hanfdul non-Osokans fighting against us, though others are simple scum and don`t carry any political power- but still good to gather as much information about them as possible. But after this Episode, I think that only Galahad can get away with his involvement.
Originally posted by Lord MelkorActually there are less Troopers on the Top then there are Osokans. Thats why I wanted to group them together they will survive longer as a group then spread out. Plus I was hoping some heavy fire would also hurt Ranad and Duchess 😛
Well, if there is similar number of Osokans and troopers, like on the top of wall- let`s remember than single Osokan warrior is more deadly than single Stormtrooper. So some rationale for accepting friendly fire casualties.
