Well, I have so many. But I would be happy to share some with you.

I have posted tham all before, of course; but I'm happy to do it again, provided that we can all play nicely together.

The first is of Ultimate Venom, who hulking body put me off initially, but really grew on me after a while. I love the shape and structure of his face.

More of my faves from random series, and in no particular order.
I love this story. This is from "The Hunger"

Yeah, Ultimate Venom is pretty cool.

When I first started posting here, I was HIGHLY engrossed in Tsunami's Venom, which leaps about as far away from the traditional Venom storyline as it possibly can. I spent many hours here trying to further its interest, but it was canceled after about 18 issues along with the other Tsunami titles. People were so angry (and I mean really, really irate--It got pretty ugly there for a minute) about the manga-style art that they never even gave the story a chance. Sadly, it was an interesting story that got little to no exposure and enjoyed a comparable amount of success.
There were at least 4 or 5 seperate artists that penciled that series, and yet, their styles complimeted each others so beautifully that you couldn't tell when they switched. This is one of Skottie Young, who drew about 4 or 5 issues in that series.

Whats the story called? That art looks amazing!

Ugh... Scottie Younge's artwork was not that great in my opinion. Too Sunday cartoony for me. That series was also one of the WEIRDEST series I have read that involved Venom. I mean for the love of god we got ANOTHER she venom and she made Venom look like softy that has no self control. The story made no sense. Just try to understant it. If you like it by all means enjoy it but your average Venom fan won't like.

It was a unique art style for marvel

Scottie Young as far as I'm concerned can die in the deepest darkest pits and wouldn't be missed.

His art is what's all wrong with comic art nowadays imo; hurried looking with little to no detail paid to anatomy... the ultimate expression WHY artists need to at least have some understanding of form and not just focus solely on expression, (if that's what he can claim he was doing with that crap).

I'm willing to bet I could go to an elementary school art class and offer to pay some 9 year old to do a Venom book and he/she'd do a better job then Young did.

Course, that's just MY opinion. 😉

Best Symbiote artists: Ron Randall (I think he's actually the best of all time), Greg Luzniak (although he did draw Venom's hands too big...overall I liked his books), Mark Bagley (one of the best of our generation overall), Ron Frenz (simple but effective; easy to recognize his style), Steven Butler (nice solid overall artist).

I think there's a few more but it's too early and my brain hasn't woken up yet. 🙂

I like the 60's 70's 80's and early 90's art only

eh, now we only need grey fox back to complete this party. but whatever, any venom art is good for me, as long as its good venom art, and better than the bad she-venom art

Her hands were the only bad art but her mouth was to big too

yeah...

Can't believe I forgot to mention McFarlane... I love how he made the Venom costume and symbiote look back in it's first appearances in Amazing...

Larsen's first 3-issue run with the Venom story was also good, but his later appearances began to reflect his real-life hatred for the character; he hated having to render him every 20 issues or so and his hatred meant he drew him overly monstrous...

His renditions are basically the cause of people rendering the V-man retarded looking every since... since lets face it it IS easier to draw a monstrous hulk Venom then an early Bagley Venom, for instance...

You are right Sir when he was first designed it was revolutionary and he was more sinister then the more recent incarnations the most basic look is usually the most sinister and that goes well with venom but then he developed fangs and a long tongue which I liked, but then they gave him a big mouth, green slime, narrower eyes and a strange new two spider symbol on him, and finally they made him what he is today a total mess everything that made venom, venom has gone replaced by rushed interpretations by artists who don't care as long as they get there pay packet who aren't even in the same league as the classic artists just shows how much marvel cares settling for second rate.

...

I think we've finally run out of things to discuss about in this spider man forum, the posters have disappeared many going to the X-men, Batman and Video game forums

Here are some pics of symbiotes

Here's one She-venom the quailty is not good yet on word it's perfect

She-Venom's okay.

Telling him who's boss
