ALL:
It seems that our fair GM (X-MenFan87) has returned...Liquid_Fire is helping us out with a new storyline but we'll see how that goes.
We should have this thing up and running within the next week at the very latest.
Until then please, no new characters. Those who have yet to be approved, please PM me your character's bios and we'll discuss it that way.
Thanks,
DW
Moving through the quiet corridors of the newly built mansion, Tattoo's limber body made its way down the large stair and into the lounge. Coffee in hand he slipped comfortably onto the sofa set infront of the large television and flicked it on with the assistance of the remote. Flicking straight to the only news program that was on at 6.30am he took a gratifying sip of the hot beverage clasped in his right hand and absorbed the media flowing out from the appliance.
Tattoo allowed the channel to stay where it was, obviously Ororo was interested in the show's content but it didn't do the same for him so he allowed his eyes to wander as Rouge entered, "Morning to you too...and the usual self. How are you?" His slightly thick londoner accent cut through the balmy morning air that resided in the mansion that morning.
((Changing Blaze’s name to Apex if you don’t mind.))
Apex stopped as his feet met the edge of the richly coloured grass, the radiant green boasted one of the largest, best well kept, and most beautiful lawns in the world. His feet rested on the edge of the inch of deep brown mud between the waters edge and the grass. He gazed across the sapphire blue lake, the top gleaming like crystal from the light that streaked across it at the crack of dawn. The sunlight shone down like golden pillars of divine light, crafted by immortal deities. The rays, easily visible breaking through the clouds to the earth and water below, were one of the most visible and breathtaking sights’ he’d ever seen, even through the military issue sunglasses he wore. The rays hailed from the skies, which floated above this entire scene, as if set they by eternal Guardians to watch over the X-men.
Apex’s sunglasses reflected the scene, a darker, smaller, yet equally stunning sight set upon the nightmare coloured glass. Slowly, his gaze floated downward, to rest on the lake; it’s surroundings, and the mansion on the other side. The lake itself was on the smaller side, maybe one quarter of a square mile, crystal clear on the edges and deep rich navy blue in the center, the water darkening the deeper it got.
The east side, halfway between center and shore housed a small island, twenty so odd trees on it. All of them were evergreen, great thick pines, a few sage coloured spruce trees in the mix. Walkways made from wood spiralled up the trees, and connected them, making a maze of tranquility and peace, where one could walk, gaze at the sights around from height, and let his mind rest. The islands surface was a rich green, just like the lawn around the edge of the lake. Other than the island, the lake was clear and calm.
His eyes unlocked from the island, and gazed to his left, then right, slowly and methodically, like a machine taking in information and cataloguing it for later. A lawn, ranging from fifty feet at the thinnest places to three hundred at the widest surrounded the lake, mostly bare save for a few large boulders, and the odd object, it served like a great radiant ring around the lake. So rich was the grass it seemed to glow in the morning light.
The grass ended in a moderately thick evergreen forest, than spanned from the top of the mountain to the bottom, so it went on to the horizon. The trees reached up to four hundred feet at the largest, with trunks as wide as eight men in a line with arms out, holding each other’s hands. Their silhouettes could be seen in the distance, but the trees at the edge of the forest were smaller, fifty feet in height. Looming above them were trees a hundred feet or taller, like parents keeping an eye on their infants, these made the bulk of the forest, so that the smaller trees faded into them, like a second canopy.
The mansion lay between two peaks, mostly grey with blue mixed into one and red in the other, a faint taint to the color of the rock. In front of it was the lawn, running for a few hundred feet, and behind was the edge of the steep bare rock of the peaks, about twenty feet of lawn between the mansion and the peaks. There was about fifty feet to either side before the trees started. It took the places of what would have been the thinnest part of the forest, because in this specific area were the peaks of the mountain, in all other directions the forest went on for nearly a mile before it started to slope down steeply. A stream came out from between the two peaks, and ran into the back of the mansion and out the front, down to the lake. Inside the mansion were two rooms, like a zoo, that were made of rounded glass where the stream was visible, and people could walk in to see the small animals in them. Several other locations in the mansion held small bubbles, or windows, embedded in the walls or floors so people could see the stream, under ground in caves or above ground in small artificial environments. In the basement the roofs had windows so you could see the bottom of the stream, and the little fish in it.
The trees that had previously been were cut down, though the largest of them were carved into statues and other small constructs, such as swings. The largest of them, a thirty foot wide trunk had been cut about fifty feet up. Tunnels had been dug into it to form a maze, and holes that served as windows dotted the bark. A spiral staircase was carved into the outside surface, so that it did not stick out, but was a hole in the wood with both a roof as well as steps. It lead to the top of the stump, where the hole it caused seemed to be like a rectangle. The top of the stump served as a launch pad for certain vehicles.
”I thought this place was supposed to be a secret.” Predator growled, walking out of the shadows of the forest, emerging into the light from behind Apex. Predator stopped at his brother’s side, and looked around. “It’s a nice place.”
”Yes…” Apex said, closing his eyes and looking down, fighting back sadness, regret…“It is…”
Predator looked at Apex and put a hand on his shoulder, giving him an affectionate squeeze and a little shake. “Don’t worry brother, whatever it is, you can pull through. You are after all the most emotionless hardcore son of a ***** I know, you can deal with anything, physical or emotional.”
Apex nodded, taking in a deep breath. Predator was right, Jason was trained as well as having a natural aptitude to deal with emotional problems presented in life, and he was good at it, except for one thing. He couldn’t handle loss very well.
”Why are we here anyway?” Predator asked, “We barely know these people. We only met them once, for a few days nearly a year ago. I mean, they are the X-men, what would they want with us?”
”I don’t know.” Apex said, “I can only assume. Last time we met we weren’t enemies, but we weren’t friends either. We were fighting a three-way battle… I almost killed one of them…” He said… “Maybe we were enemies…but we both had a common enemy…and were forced to work together in the end. I don’t know of showing our face here is a good idea. It might not be a good reception.”
”Heh. Don’t worry, we can handle ourselves.” Predator said. “And we wont fight them enemy more, we’re free, no longer under X-con control.”
”Yes. Which is why we’re here. To become friends…I do not wish to fight them, ever again.” Apex sighed, and looked down. “I hope they will be forgiving…” He then looked up at the mansion, and began walking around the outside of the lake. “Only by trial and error can we put the key in this piece of the puzzle.”
OOC:: Working with the new add-on, my two characters were raised and crafted by X-con and fought against Magneto and the X-men, but the X-men and they ended up working together for a very short time to defeat Magneto, who threatened the whole world, including X-con. However there was bitterness and tension even after they defeated Magneto, and the two forces parted before they would get into a battle because the amount of tension would have led them to attack one another. This was about a year ago, so my two characters are sort of like enemies to the X-men.
"I heard about this show but I've never seen it.The kids are always talking about but this is this first I've had time to sit down to take a look .Is it any good Tattoo?",Storm asked but Tattoo was to into it and she was talking to low for him to hear.So Storm just let him be and went to see what Wolverine and Professor Xavier were doing downstairs in Cerebro. As she walked through the halls to the elevator to get to Cerebro she saw alot of the kids laughing and carrieing on.It made her feel good and happy that their lives were getting back to normal,or as normal as it could be.
As she walked through the last hall and stepped into the elevator she thought to herself, would they have been better off being normal and being sheltered by their parents are with the X-Men?
She wondered............. we're the kids happy?
Tattoo only noticed that Ororo had left the room when he asked a question and after several moments it went unanswered. Snapping his gaze to his left where she'd been sitting he frowned at his own apparent lack of concentration.
Turning the television off he stood and stretched, allowing several joints to pop back into place before he stooped down to pick up his mug and make his way back into the kitchen.
