Nothing in the world seemed to matter as Kyle felt Nakoma's hand slip from her's. His simple words shot a whole through her heart. Even after being saved by one of the X-men who didn't even know him she thought he'd be greatful and it made her just a little bit more then upset or angry because he was still cold towards them.
Still, she felt as though he was forcing her to make a decision: him or them and she knew just who she would pick, it was no contest. She was extremely greatful for the help she recieved already and couldn't wait to see what the future would hold.
Suddenly her stomach gurgled with hunger and she placed a careful hand to it but she wasn't keen on eating. Instead of eating she made her way to the stairs and took them two at a time until she reached Nakoma's room. She knocked on his door, hopeing he wasn't asleep yet.
"Come in." He says and in walks Kyle which immediately brings a small barely noticeable smile to his face. Here he can express himself and show emotions.
"Ahhh! Stay away before you kill me!" He says jokingly as he begins to hide under his covers gripping them tightly. He then comes back out laughing.
"So tonight was somewhat exciting Kyle. Sorry if I scared you or upset you at all tonight, it was not my intentions at all."
Kyle turns the door knob and lets herself in. "Exciting..isn't what I would call it" she informs him in a matter of fact voice while closing the door behind her so as not to disturb anyone else. She made her way across the room and sat down on the edge of his bed.
"I don't mean to keep you from sleeping..I just wanted to make sure you were alright and to say that I know you better then anyone else and I know you're not entirely happy with this arrangement. But, Nakoma," she paused and looked into his eyes for emphasis, "if tonight is anything to go by, I just have to stay long enough to learn control over my powers...Please promise me you'll stay with me..."
Her eyes seemed to hold a degree of infinite sadness. He understands her pain, she can't control her powers to the degree that Nakoma can. Just a split second of emotional distress and she can cause harm to everyone around her. He held and her hand and smiled.
"Yeah I'm alright, so what I almost died? Not that big of a deal as long as it is by your hand. I'm here as long as you're happy, I'll play nice I promise. I got an idea, I'll make you feel better tomorrow night. I got a big surprise for you, but you gotta get rid of this whole depressed aura. Your sadness is violatng the beautiful win within the air.
He says with a genuine smile that is bigger and brighter than his usual smirk.
A small smile makes it's way on to her face at his comforting words but a degree of sadness is still behind it. She does her best to put on a good front and think of sad things later so as not to worry him any more. Slowly Kyle toed off her shoes and pulled her legs up on the bed then curled herself in next to Nakoma. She pressed her face in against his neck and shoulder to go to sleep.
With everything that happened today Kyle was ready to sink in the abyss and not come out of it until it was her choice and no one else's. She had met many of the x-men today and there would be more, she was sure. She appreciated them already and she was determined to make Nakoma see things her way; that they weren't so bad.
A yawn escaped her and she snuggled in closer and let sleep over take her.
Her grip like always was tight and it would be hard for him to sneak off or even go to the bathroom wherever that is. He places his arm around her and yawns himself to sleep aswell. Tomorrow will be very interesting for the both of them tomorrow and with his final words of the night he begins to fall into a temporary slumber.
"Don't worry...tomorrow will be fun, and you'll love the surprise...I hope this "Professor isn't a je..."
and with that he falls off to sleep with her.
Slivers of light peeked through the blinds in Shatters room and she roused from her peacefull sleep. Brushing her hair out of her eyes she stretched and smiled, feeling much better due to the exhaustion induced sleep. Sitting up and chuckling as she realised that she was still fully dressed, shaking her head and getting changed she exited her room and made her way downstairs, kinda hoping that someone else was awake so early.
Storm was up bright and early. She was down stairs cooking breakfast for the students and staff.Oh Shatter.Good to see your up this early. Now only if sleepy head over there wakes up."She pointed at Cain."He has had an long night. Even though he has tryed to kill us several times,he looks so peaceful sleeping"
Little did they know, but Cain was wide awake. His consciousness was in the Crimson Cosmos consulting with Cyttorak himself. He comes back to reality. He wakes up and becomes as crude as ever.
"Yeah I'll take two eggs over easy and some grits I guess. Hurry up and try not to burn my food will ya toots?"
He gets up and leaves before she replies. He makes his way to Rogue's door unknowingly though, he had no idea who it belonged to. He stretches out and falls to the ground, causing a mini quake on the floor.
"I'll just wait here."
Without his magical enchantment that would've really caused some serious burns, but thankfully he is only angered, his hair is messed up now and filled with grits. He growl as he stands up and balls his fists up.
"You know I would really teach you a few things about respect if I hadn't made a promise prior to this situation."
"Lesson.I'll teach you an good lesson in respecting an woman!"Lighting shot across Storm's eye's and hair as the wind blew her hair up into the air.First you don't call me toots and you don't demand me to do anything."Storm yelled ready to unlesh her powers
"What's going on down here?"Rogue opened up her door.
