What is the title of this movie??

I can’t seem to remember the title of this movie…it was based during WWII and an American and Japanese soldier were stranded on an island. Most of the movie they were sabotaging each other…but them became friends to survive. I thought the American soldier was played by either Robert Mitchum, or William Holden…but searched for both and have had no luck.

Can anyone help??

None But The Brave? that came up on IMDB, there is another one with two stranded on an island but I can't think of the actor!
