America supports you

I just read this comic and well i asked myself:
Thor is back? Since when? He has an appearence in New Avengers ASY #2

I thought he sleeps or something like that.
And now you can see him with Sentry together.
(so much to the theory Thor and Sentry are the same person)

The artwork sucks.

Thing, Sentry and Thor look like retards.

🤨 When did Thor come back? Are they asleep at the switch at Marvel?
What's with the expression? It's like they pasted his face from one panel to another - what's he looking at? The reader?

😂

It's not canon.

oh...jezus....ths artwork is............BLLLUUUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHH.

Like 8bit said, it's not canon, it has no impact on continuity nor does it take place in any currently established continuity, it was a limited press special edition comic meant for fun not anal-retentive fans.

So what was the speach?

Marvel was once King of Continuity. Have they just thrown up their hands and said "F**k it, it's too hard, everyone do what you want" ?

Pretty much.

No.

It was a special edition comic produced especially for the troops over in Iraq and sent to them. It was never meant to be a part of any continuity. It looks more like a little propoganda one shot.

Or do you want to count all those little library educational Marvel comics for first graders as continuity too?

I don't understand why people are getting anal at this comic.

For some, they just look for any reason to take a pot shot a Marvel.

So much for doing a nice gesture.

At least Marvel isn't using "continuity" as a shading marketing tactic to milk millions of dollars out of its fans. Look at all the Infinite Crisis tie-ins. I hope anyone isn't a completist.

I for one, am glad I can buy a Thing comic without it tying into a She-Hulk comic. Marvel sticks to it's continuity for the most part; they just don't advertise it as one of their focal points so they can tie everything into the same project.

So what was the speech?

Am I the onlt one that didn't get this comic that is curious about what Cap said?

OK I just don't know what's going on, is all. It's like those one-shots of Spider-Man hanging with the Montreal Expos, or Batman pursuing the Joker to Toronto; one-shots for the young kids.

I will post the speech later.

Yeah, I wanna hear too. =O

Here by popular demand :

And here some funny relation between Thing and Sentry

Earths mightiest hero surely knows the way 😆 😈

Interesting - though this goes to a few locations, the centre of this is Iraq. That's what is meant by supporting the troops.
In the 1960's, I believe Marvel made a decision to be against the Vietnam War. Stories would reflect that. Many people see a parallel between the quagmire of Vietnam and Iraq. Has Marvel changed their tune these days?
Supporting troops is one thing, but if you can't support the cause they are there for it doesn't matter.

I love how people compare vietnam to Iraq, when its a little bit closer in resmblence to ww2. . .Dictator that's attmpted genocide removed, insurgents like in ww2. . . even a leader deciving the people either intentionally or unintentionally to get us into it. . .

That's Intentionally. Remember the Weapons Of Mass Destruction? Pfftt.

Remember the domino theory of Vietnam? It's here again. Totally remake Iraq into a western-type democracy, and all the surrounding countries will follow? Vietnam: If we don't intervene, all of Asia will become communist.

However many of his own people Saddam brutalized and killed, I wonder how many innocents have died by aerial bombing and being caught in a crossfire; comparable number?

Saddam may have condemned the USA, but his country wasn't a religious theocracy like others - the kind that breed terrorists who believe in Jihad. Well, there is a hell of a lot of terrorists operating in Iraq NOW, thanks to an illegal invasion.

That Saddam was a bad dictator has never been the point, in the big picture. It's when he stopped taking direction from Washington that he became a big menace. I see lots of dictators operating in other, OIL-FREE countries that don't get invaded. Oh, a lot of them have weapons, too.

I love how they keep trying to compare it to WW2, in an effort get some legitimacy.

Or, we could just say that America the Empire, the sole superpower, is going to do what it wants in this world from now on. If outside countries don't like it, tough.
It seems Rome has returned...
