I NEVER mocked you...when I put THE down, it was a tongue in cheek given the context of the serious nature that THAT thread had suddenly taken. THE is a simple word...

Some people take spelling seriously, I for one, don't really care as long as you aren't taking machete to the English dictionary. It's no big deal to me...

Also, it would imply that I cared, which I don't.

Exactly. The only time I've ever taken it seriously was when I melted down earlier in the year and became SATAN Moose, instead of Santa moose.
