Yeah, it wouldn't be so bad except I really love her. But it's complicated because she's from Brazil and misses her family, I don't speak Portuguese and her English isn't perfect... I dunno. Maybe we can work it out eventually, but I think she's somehow convinced herself that we're too different.. I don't see it personally.
🙁

Makes no sense because people can learn languages easily.
I think we're gonna try again to work it out.. it was all a big misunderstanding, and lack of communication. 😍

Yeah, I'm finding that it's not as hard as I once thought. She found some thing online called the Pimsleur Approach (Paul Pimsleur) and it's CD tracks that you listen to and repeat and it teaches you the language (some basics at least). Anyway, I've only been through 4 of the 8 (30 min.) tracks of the Brazilian Portuguese lessons so far and I've already learned way more than I ever did in 2 years of French class. There is no substitute for hearing & speaking a language before looking at it. The way we teach foreign language here in the States embarrasses us to the rest of the world. We should start it earlier (not High School) and it should be hearing/speaking/repeating, because when I look at a written foreign language, I just try to pronounce it the way my language would, which is obviously counterproductive. But if you learn to say it first, then look at the word written, you truly learn the language.
