I'd heard it, too, that T-ray did somethin' to mess with DP's mind and make him think he wasn't Wade Wilson... but everyone always calls him Wilson, or Wade, or ... well, a bunch of expletives.
Anyway, I knwo that that isn't always a good rule of thumb, since Wolverine's name is actually James Howlett... but for the most part, I always assume that if everyone continues to call someone by a name, repeatedly.... like, say, Spider-man is always referred to as Peter Parker... then I'd say that it's probably that guys' name.
If not, then the boys at Marvel better get off their butts and make this a little clearer and stop screwin' with our heads.

That would be cool stuff. He deserves it, but they gave his origin in his single series, didn't they? They also have it on Wikipedia, I think. I double check, but I'm pretty sure.
