Is Anastacia a transexual ?

I am at work arguing the sexual origin of Anastacia the singer.

My collegue is insisting with another collegue of mine that Anastacia was born a Man and then had a sex change. I always thought she was woman but now i am confused.

I even googled it and cannot seem to find any convincing proof that she was a man.

What are your views ? Was Anastacia a man ?
