She didn't cry because it hurt her, but because she was surprised by his noble and pure heart. But back then (FF vs X-Men) she absorbed him very easily, without any problems.
She's also faster AND can fly. If there's somebody who will be dominating this fight, it's Rogue. She can even hold her own for a while without her flight and her talent to absorb peoples powers.
But with those powers, it's hard for her to go down. She just has to touch him.
(Oh and she absorbed Colossus already, i think it was when they fought Nimrod the first time).
