I don't think that's the case anymore. Remember when the council of Reeds fought the Celestials not too long ago? There were multiple versions of Reed using multiple infinity gauntlets in the same space.
BTW have you read the Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks?
The Zombie Survival Guide and WWZ are written by the same guy. One is a survival guide, the other is a collection of stories from varying perspectives after a hypothetical zombie apocalypse.
I've never read WWZ though, I can't read anything told from a first person narrative. It's a weird pet peeve of mine.

But they needed a cloaked Reed to temporarily bleed a partial universe into the place they were, if I recall correctly.
