lol the destruction of Thanos' character begins.

his character was destroyed many power ups ago....... i actually hope the avengers completely annihilate him and bring him back down to the level he was always meant to be at.

Sorry Carver. One just can take so much and I actually stopped myself before because of You, Believe it or not.

Sure.

Wow, I thought "pineapple thing" was an exaggeration.

Nope is not, I enjoyed that comic very much and I was actually happy for Ben to finally win a fight vs Hulk.

Dr. Doom explains that Thing is actually stronger than before and Hulk's strength did not increased rapidly enough to defeat the Thing.

In the very next comic Hulk wins the next battle because Hulk has greater movility than Thing. Thing gets tired and Hulk (Mr. Fixit) just finish the fight.

Alpha/Omega, in a nutshell:

That's basically....just the warm-up.

Later in the same arc, he gets trapped in an unescapable maze for more than a week, without water, food, drugged out of his mind and psychologically tortured. At the end, Talon - the same guy in the scene you just quoted, who is a highly skilled superhuman assassin, comes in from behind, stabs him straight through the gut, then beats him through walls and the like as he's bleeding in and out.

Batman summons the will and gets up in that condition, destroying him in hand to hand, as he's hallucinating mid-fight due to the drugs/exhaustion etc. and shows off his intelligence by escaping the maze.

All of that is happening after multiple injuries sustained before, not the least of which are the multiple stabbings above, multiple free fallings off of skyscrappers one of which involved him stopping himself with his bare hands while near terminal velocity, explosions, even Alfred trying to sedate him to slow the f*ck down and Bruce just shrugging it off and plowing through.

After all this damage? He finally arrives to the Wayne manor, gets bandaged, and then another gang of Talons attacks him. What does he do? He fights them off in his bedroom clothes.

just saw this (made sure not to quote the last part though uhuh)

iirc you referenced some of this in ICT, that thread where quan was e-stalking you facepalm. looks like they're starting batman off pretty high end.

Hulk did look the best there
yes, and thanks to hulk thor knows their opponents can be beaten (hulk beat their strongest member into myocardial infarction, too):

What makes you think the Lion Zodiac was their strongest member? Despite it being a classic villain of the week type loss, Taurus still beat Thor while the Odinson was beating the shit out of that Zodiac member and was taking two on at the same time at one point IIRC.

I didn't notice that statement before. Thor's dialogue in this issue really does suck and that part didn't even make sense. Iron Man and Hawkeye beat Taurus just the issue before, Thor was rocking them with regular blows, these guys are far from invincible. Heck, he would have beaten the Lion guy himself early on if he hadn't stood there looking at him for some weird reason. The only explanation I can think of besides Bendis really sucking at times is his intent to make Hulk look cool or impressive with the set up.

Bendis Thor might have been a bit too aggressive and preachy before, but I'm starting to like that version better if this is any indication where Avengers influenced Thor is going to be taken.

Ugh, "Avengers Dissamble".

hey man, apparently thor didn't know they could be truly defeated, and hulk more than rocked leo, he gave that dude a heart attack. *shrug*

iirc leo is the physically strongest, but taurus is no slouch.

Like I said, it makes no sense and Thor comes off looking stupid. These guys aren't tanking shit with ease or even winning most of the match ups, and one of them has already lost. They're relatively tough but that's it. I'm almost hoping Bendis was trying to set Hulk up to get some mouth service instead of being that lazy.

Yea, Hulk beat the shit out of him, that's not in contention, but if Thor unloaded on his face like that, he'd have beaten him too.

Even if Leo was the physically strongest in the past, it really has no relevance to this arc. Taurus seems to be superior or at least more effective in combat.

Thor already lost to the Lion though and then Thor was on the losing end against the other Zodiac member.

Why are you making stuff up when you know I've been keeping up with the series?

Thor never lost to the Lion Zodiac, he was actually beating him up the entire time as I recall.

That other Zodiac member knocked him to the surface of the Hellicarrier and dropped a plane on him (All which did nothing) but then we see Thor mahandling it while knocking aside another Zodiac member.

In contrast, Hulk was straight up knocked way off of the Hellicarrier if you think getting a shot in automatically means inferiority.
