Actually,

It turns out that Superman killing Spectre with the Spear, was only a vision of what would have happened if Superman had chosen the route of temptation:

Plus, Superman had the friggin Spear of Destiny.

Anyone could kill Spectre with it.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I will say this. It was no accident that Superman was the ONE wielding the spear and OWNing Spectre.

Errr.

The government gave it to him.

Before this, an agent of Kobra had the Spear, and nearly killed Spectre with it as well.

The person wielding the Spear has nothing to do with the Spear's capacity to kill Spectre.

And remember, that vision of Supes killing Spectre never actually happened.

Ouch...

The spear that killed Jesus?

Well I would THINK that would be able to destroy the Spectre 😬

The spear didn't kill Christ, it put a shallow wound in his side, which wouldn't have killed an 8 year old; he died from the shock of having nails driven through his legs and wrists. And Spectre has demonstrated power far beyond anything Jesus is reputed to have done.

Unless you follow the whole Jesus = God, God created the universe, therefore Jesus created the universe line of reasoning.

Never really made much sense to me though.

It is DC canon, not Biblical canon. I don't know that you can logically mix the two.

It can.

The Spear is the only artifact which can outright destroy Spectre.

And it makes no sense to mix that into the DC canon, unless DC specifically states it to be so.
