There was an artist--might be this guy; the art looks the same--who was a hack ass scribbler who should have been drawing Sunday morning funny papers but somehow managed to get a few issues of The Sandman and Lucifer and ended up ruining said issues even though the stories themselves were (as to be expected from Gaiman and Carey) great.
