I'm no Professor, but I'm pretty sure what the writer didn't mean that either Thor or Hulk had a better chance of surviving against each other, but were the favorites from the rest. Not being able to clone a God comment might even suggest that the scientist thinks Thor would survive.
But such complexities of the English language escape Carver. HULK SMASH.

Someone said that in Dark Avengers, Thor and Hulk fought to the death in an alternate reality with only Mjolnir being left in the crater. My favorite part though is that apparently Ragnarok's skin is too tough for Pym and Stark to cut, they had to resort to teleporting a big chunk of broken machinery out of his brain. However, his Agardian physiology is so resilient, that he'll be able to survive and regrow the brain tissue himself.
