Those Celestials being more powerful is the best explanation, I guess. Though clearly Starbrand Reed wasn't capable of flying up and slaying any Celestial he wanted, or else he would have killed them all in the time it took 616 Reed to leave the fortress and get his entropy gun. /shrug
