I don't think he's ever even worn Celestial Armor, but here it's the armor that seems to be the big deal that makes him powerful. In retrospect young Thor fought the equivalent of a herald of the Celestials and did alright.
Having the power to make Sentry a horseman now seems reasonable.

This is all fairly recent I guess as it's all news to me. I'll have to pick Remender's X-Force series soon. I hear it's pretty good and the current Uncanny Avengers is heavily tied into it I guess.

Stupidity. They probably just keep the scars as some sort of honor or to remind them of their weakness etc.
I can't explain it either; to me it shows a lack of power but I just don't know......another example is the King Thor or whatever, where Thor can't regenerate his arm. That isn't a badge of honor, that's just showing a lack of HF and weak magic.
It's pretty consistent with the limb loss thing. How could Thor possibly take over the world if he can't regen an arm or doesn't have the durability to withstand losing it in the first place? There are just overwhelming numbers against him, and if he could lose an arm, he would have surely lost his head. It just screams PIS unless someone can logically explain it.

I know Odin had to pluck his eye out for his trials, so it makes sense that he has to permanently lose it to retain his power; but can someone please explain Thor losing his arm? Rune King Thor plucked both eyes out, and the permanent loss is explained via the Odin reasoning, but the arm thing is inexplicable.

Why can't Thor or Odin just regenerate their lost eye? Seeing as how they are so mystical and powerful
Regenerating limbs or organs is nothing to the Odin Force, it can even ressurect the dead or create life. There are different reasons for each of their wounds however.
Odin sacrificed his eye to gain Omniscience. The act loses meaning if he just regenerated his eye. The same reason applies to Rune King Thor; he plucked both his eyes out to gain knowledge of the Runes.
Reigning King Thor kept his wounds as mementos. This King Thor lost the Thor-Force a few thousand years ago but recently he felt it awakening in him (Seeing a Younger Thor envigorated his spirit). He'll still keep his wounds as mementos I wager.

Lol, this guy. For acts to have meaning, they can't just be redone with magic. Asgardians are a warrior race, wounds and scars are valued over being pretty.
Thor lost his eye and arm while beating Hulk and Thing in hand to hand combat in a battle that lasted for hours (Pretty much cementing his status as the strongest hand to hand combatant on Earth of that time) while deprived of the Odin Force. And the only reason Strange was able to accomplish that is because the council of Skyfathers created an amulet for him. Which was temporary anyways.

Why does Apocalypse look like Holocaust? Also, they made an entire event on Apocalypse and his connection with the Celestials some yrs back.
That is Holocaust I think. He's redoing the ritual of Apocalypse that is performed by each Evolutionary overseer of the Celestials or whatever.
