It is easy to miss it, since he kept the broken links quote, just so that the others on this page have more to scroll over.

A smart man, that one.

I submitted my reply just after you made the edit. I didn't do it so others could have more scroll space.

I am still smart.

Johns certainly went nuts in the last issue of GL. 👆

Gotta say: I enjoyed it quite a bit. Easily my single favorite GL book since the reboot.

Lulz at MM mind phuckin Despero.....how many times did Jonn lose to him in a tp battle 4-5-6?

Been a good week for ownage.

Always nice to see Wolverine getting served. Hal being godly as usual with Johns.

Superman having his first blitzing/super speed showing against Orion. Heat vision cleaving in half the sip. niiiice. About time Big Blue had a big throwdown.

In his post pre-edit they were not.

Did you not read the "edit: now that's better" portion of my post?

That goes without saying. Martians should always be portrayed as the most powerful aliens of all. Simply because they are Martians. 😎

A Salute to Mars Attack!

Man, a lot of things been happening, when I was on break from comics

The Orion/Superman battle was a bit disappointing, but it showed just how durable Orion was. Superman was speed blitzing him and punching Orion to no end, yet all that did was make Orion smile.

Orion was basically a punching bag lol.

Did he use the Astro Force? He got some good licks in too. Even getting out of the ship Superman heat visioned. The fight could have gone on a lot longer, but WW interupted it.

This Superman/Orion brawl was just like every other Superman/Orion brawl. Clearly they are physical peers, but Superman still has the slight advantage.

Except this Superman has shown to be stronger, so it makes DCnU Orion a bit more impressive in a physical brawl. Until he brings the Astro Force out... I wonder how much they make the AF out to be, because it has stunned Superman before.

It is very impressive of Orion to stand up to Supes without using his "trump card"

Lol, oh man Green Lantern this week. World Breaker Hal Jordan was unleashed. John masturbated so hard to Hal in this issue that the pages were sticky.

A better issue of Green Lantern than I've read in a long time from John, but man.

It's relative. They were peers in pre-reboot continuity, with Supes having the slight advantage-- and they are still peers in post-reboot continuity, with Supes having the slight advantage.

I thought the brawl between Superman and Orion was well done, tbh.

The way you guys talked about it, I thought Superman beat up Orion but the Dog of War looked just as strong/tough as the Man of Steel:

Superman looked like he had the super-speed advantage but due to his damage soak, Orion took a ridiculous amount of blows. With a smile to boot.

So:

for Supes:

[]Holding back/normal Superman punches harder than Orion's ever been hit.
[]Superman speedblitzes (with what looked to be tens of punches) a high-herald (that also happens to have superspeed)
[]His heat vision is put in the same sentence with the firepits of Apokolips
[]The Lasso of Truth doesn't have total control over him.
[]Is called the most powerful creature on the planet by Hammond

for Orion:

[]Punches Superman from one side of Metropolis to the other
[]Tanks what is by his own words "the harder he's ever been hit", followed by a speedblitz.
[]Lifts a battlecarrier in the space of moments, easily.
[]Heat doesn't seem to pose much problems for him.
[]Mother box pulls Hammond out of Superman's mind, puts mental blocks to stop him from entering again, mind-rapes him (!) and then sends him back to his own body.

Also: both of them were punching at supersonic speed.

Quite a few feats, there.

How do you know both of them were punching at supersonic speeds? Due to the distances?

Also, the new Orion can fly on his own without the harness? That's cool.
