Character Ownage

Used to be a huge Hulk fan, but he is a "weak" character (not literally of course) to me lately

I'm biased though, as I don't like these kind of feats in comics, as it sets the bar too high so when they are portrayed in their next showing their no where close to being in that levels and becomes contradictory. Same compliant I had with Superman bench pressing the planet. A bad story is a bad story, having an uber feat does not make a story good.

Nobody remembered that chronal metal in hulk's fist amping his strike?

The scan itself said Hulk did it by himself. Obviously he's not just going to swing his arms and break time, but the suit put him in the temporal rift which gave him something to swing at.

Someone is jelly of the Hulk.

Actually Hulk is a very interesting character, because of his fragmented mind as banner that reflects in the Hulk.

Good feat for Hulk btw, lets just see the context, but a nice feat none the less 👆

there was like 20 pages of context posted twice in a 3 page feat...

Don't worry about Rao...he has made it a mission to TRY and find context with Hulk fts.

Also, Hulk held on to a time rift.

I think they slapped Thanos in there just to lend it some extra cosmic credibility and I'd wager that more people care about the ending involving Thanos than what ultimately happened with the builders.

Thanos was obviously slapped in there because hes suddenly an important character to the future of the Marvel movie Universe.

As for The Builders - it depends IMO. If they are just treated as typical one-off event baddies - built up as a huge threat and then quickly deflated then thats kinda shit. If Hickman references them fairly heavily in the rest of his mega-arc (and perhaps explains a bit more about their relation to the other great powers in the Universe/Multiverse i.e. Celestials) than they could be pretty cool. It was already kind of fun seeing the encounter between the seemingly more civilized Builders from the incursion reality in the last issue of New Avengers.

Context as you know does not appears in only one issue. Other than that, nice feat for Hulk.

Nah! more likely exposing exposing someones lies, namely ***v**9 🙂

Naah, I just think you fear people realizing a character is stronger than your #1.Its ok buddy, a lot of people already believes this.

This ft piss on Prime retcon punch ft (Hulk punched something thhat wasn't physical with strength alone...Prime punched a wall built to control time). Hulk is by far the god of strength and this is Savage Hulk we are talking about here. Not even his most powerful incarnations.

Come on man. Hulk is Hulk and theres no way Waid was thinking "This isn't even the most powerful Hulk!" except in relation to "Hulk Squared" maybe. The whole point of Hulk is that if he gets angry enough he gets strong enough anyway.

This scene pleasured me on many levels also but lets accept it with good grace and humility.

Who Doomsday?

Now Carvi shut up, or you are going to get the thread closed again. 😉

lmao, the irony.

That said? Guys, get back on to the actual topic of this thread. Which means scans, not debates.

Does this mean Waid's run on Hulk is over?
God I hope so. He's been responsible for some of the most boring Hulk 'stories' ever. I thought Aaron's wacky mad Banner stuff was a bit of a come down from the fascinating post-WWH intelligenCIA stuff, but this run has been hugely disappointing.

Oh and that feat, if I read it correctly, basically leaves "Hulk squared" in the past (and maybe thus, in the present) as a separate entity as well as returning Bruce Banner to "Savage Hulk" levels as he is Banner from the past.

So now we have SpikeyHulk who is also the proper 616 Banner, somewhere in the universe and we have origin-point Banner - uploaded with the digitised consciousness of 616 Banner - as the primary Hulk of 616 (a Savage Hulk, at that).

They really are determined to waste all the good character development that went on over the years from prior to and through Planet Hulk/WWH/WWHS/FOTH ...

Retcon punch was absurd and messily depicted. If (and given Savage Hulk has done similar before), he could punch through time to the present, just as long as he had some chronal material to hit, why was he not able to punch to the past?

Lol I like how you said that. And apparently your correct because Scooby seems to be the headline star.

That tail in front of Robin is highly suggestive... I guess they teamed up in more ways than one.

You could guess by looking at the smile on Robin's face....

Hulk punches all the way through the time barrier shattering it and undoing all the retcons of the current arc, some of which were massive (Like erasing people from history). His fist starts in the New Mexico desert immediately after the original gamma bomb and ends up in a top secret underground SHIELD facility in the present day.
