for me, a good title is all about consistency. that said, sinestro is only 2 issues deep--way to early to judge if it'll be a good book in the long haul. and the gl titles are extremely hit and miss--some are really good and some are really bad(though new guardians is my favorite current lantern book.)

where consistency is concerned: green arrow, aquaman, and wonder woman are the best all-around titles in dc right now, imo. almost every single issue delivers(especially green arrow.) JLD used to be among the top books in dc, but the story/plot has been slipping since the blight arc ended, which is a real shame--hoping it picks back up soon.

oh, good. i must have misunderstood you. 👆

same with myself and DCnU firestorm in that regard(but at least the DCnU didn't take a steaming dump on GA, like they did to poor FS.) 🙁

I guess we will agree to disagree. I think Venditti's GL has been pretty consistent in terms of quality. It's not a big spectacle like John's GL, but it's a breath of fresh air, IMO.

Agreed about Sinestro, but it's been pretty good so far. Red Lanterns deserves a mention, IMO. Solid every month.

Other titles I like are:

Futures End
Jeff Parker's Aquaman
Phantom Stranger
Swamp Thing
Action Comics
Batman (Snyder's Zero Year story is his best so far in the DCnU)
Batwing

^ swamp thing is getting better now, but it had a very rocky start. the first, like, 20(give or take) issues were the definition of mediocrity. don't know how brilliant titles like captain atom and i vampire were cancelled before it...

Oh, no, ive slammed dc in the past about it, and ive only read sporadically. Its a good book, but its just not what i want in an arrow book.

Yeah it sucks. Im worried about reddy, brion and kimiyo still.

👆

Me too. i really, really hope RT weathers the storm. in fact, i hope his characterization is more or less identical to how it was pre-flashpoint, or i probably won't be happy.

Soule's run so far has been pretty awesome. Better than Snyder's for sure. It's been getting solid reviews since he took over.

Ughh. I thought Captain Atom was god awful. Wait... Were you being sarcastic?

^ no, i actually did enjoy it. certainly not as much as i enjoyed i vampire, mind you, but i definitely would have liked to see other titles get cancelled before it. /shrug

I liked Snyder's Swamp Thing run quite a bit, Soule is doing really well on that title so far too. The one book I really miss from DC's Dark Line though is I, Vampire.

I actually like Super boy. The arcs are not always solid, but most often then not there pretty good.

Wonder Woman for me is one of the best of the new dc.

I also like the Superman/Wonder Woman title, then again am biased when it comes to those 2. It could be far better don't get me wrong, but overall it's a strong and solid title.

Agreed with I vampire, same thing with Demon Knights. ****ing shame Dc canceled them.

^ superboy is a very underrated series. granted it started out slow, but it has become very enjoyable over the months. 👆

I don't remember this discussion but if you're argument is that Galactus couldn't possibly win because you can't imagine Thor losing in his own comic, then I was correct to disagree. And even if Galactus does lose, I'd still disagree.

That's horrible logic.

Here you go.

Looking forward to how this ends, and how they will portray the fight. No matter what it can't be worse then the last time. I still have a feeling that Galactus will get chased of the planet (again). Again Thor losing in his own book... not going to happen imo.

On a side note: I'm a bit torn about the armor on Galactus it looks kinda cool, but those "thorns"...

Yea same. Did you read the Gorr arc? Thor losing is not a large concern for Aaron.

I like it. Galactus seems to evolved with his technology.

I did, I quite enjoyed it actually. Liked the way the different thors was portrayed. I think that is a matter of opinion. I mean we can certainly agree on that Thor for the majority of the comics lost the battles, but in the end won the war. I sorta predict the same thing will apply here, but I'm not sure. We will have to wait and see, but yeah everything would beat HEADBUTT INC.

I like it aswell, if that particular picture didn't make Galactus look like a walking Chimney. I also quite like the art on Thor and in the comic in generel.

No matter what happens though, I expect a good read, similar to Gorr.

uhhh

I can't stand the superman/wonder woman book, and they're a coupling I've always wanted to see 🙁

^Long time no see, MrAnathema.

Shocker facepalm:

Don't get me wrong, the Superman/Wonder Woman can be far better than what's been put out, but at the same time is not a bad book.

For example, the whole mentioning of Lois in most of the Superman's title is ****ing sickening. You put him with Diana not because either one is superior to another, but because there equals.

Mentioning Lois every damn time kills it for me. At the end of the day, what was really the point in putting those 2 together?

I just hope someone takes over after the Doom events and writes those 2 the way there meant to be written. A writer that knows both characters equally.

Write a story were there not stuck on Earth, have them explored other dimensions and shit, don't let them be stuck on Earth all the damn time.

Oh God.

This half ass writing reminds me of the Superman/Batman arc when he was hurt by a werewolf claws because it was magic, or when Dracula was able to hurt him by biting him.

I swear, half of these writers are just there for a paycheck, and could cared less on how they treat the characters.

That was pretty slick of Shocker, turning SH own words against her like that.

Not really. Stormbreaker messed him up with that return enchantment but besides that they caused some minor annoyances against a Galactus that didn't really want to hurt them while King Thor vs. Galactus was much more intense and every time he was struck, it rocked his shit.

No match? Lol this guy.

Maybe.

...they tore his jaw off, ffs. none

If anything it was Jarnbjorn that really phukked his face up. The return call with Stormbreaker just made it worse.
