😂

I dunno if this is righting a wrong or the moment when thousands of Spidey fans will finally snap and be done with it.

Marvel long ago stopped caring about what the comic fans want so I'm guessing it'll be the latter.

^This is what comic fans wanted though.

****ing Quesada's idea that comic fans wanted Peter to stay eternally 25 is why we had OMD in the first place.

That's what I'm saying. It's what comic fans want so it's likely to be something non canon just to twist the knife.

Well, sure, they understand how their money is made. And, dedicated as we are, it's not from us. It's from the ever-cycling 18-25 demographic that gets into comics for 3-5 years, then leaves.

I'm not going to buy whatever is going on, but I am very curious to see what is going to happen 2015 with Marvel

Oh no, don't tell me that retard is coming back. Can't she just stay with that fireman and f*ck off forever?

Digi, I disagree.

It's just that that particular model is what they've gotten into their heads. It's the problem with any 'big' business, that they're always trying to make huge hits and nothing but. They have absolutely no respect for the quality of the product they're putting out, and it's just big and fast changes and desperate attempts to cash in on whatever the current fad is.

I think they should simplify and the people working in the industry needs to get unionized, and at the same time be put on a tighter leash.

Vertigo's a perfect of example of how you can sustain moderately successful quality titles over many years (Before DC went overly greedy). Writers got a decent cut of the sales, little editorial meddling and many books enjoyed a small and dedicated group of readers.

Then suddenly DC forced them in under a new contract where hardly any writers ended up with bonuses, squeezed out the old editor and stared assimilating titles to bolster the flagship titles who were pulling their own phucking weight.

Just like in the game industry where you have AAA titles and Indie titles, and almost nothing in-between. There's so much room for mid-budget titles, but no one's willing to put anything on a title that's not made in somebody's phucking garage or has a 500 million dollar budget.

As much as I hated OMD/BND Slott's done a great job with Spider-man since then, the last thing I want right now is another retcon or a 5 years jump into the future.

I can't speak to the business side of things nearly as much, so I'm happy to take you at your word. But what I do know is that there's a TON of attrition in comics. 30+ year-olds are simply the exception. And the 16-year-old with allowance money to burn is going to forever remain their primary target. It's why we see so many reboots in comics, and alternate universes, and origin stories. Readers with a beginning to start from are less likely to run away quickly.

A new 9 week event has been announced for DC known as Convergence.
