So unfortunately I can't find any scans of this, but a recent Aquaman thread reminded me of some pretty epic ownage involving him. This story had to of happened between 2002-2007, around there, so it was way before the Nu.
Most of the details aren't important, but suffice to say at one point Aquaman is VERY pissed off and in a very bad mood. So he goes to the JLA tower(or some kind of headquarters) and Superman is there. Well, they get in an argument and then Aquaman actually HITS Superman, who kind of falls back on the ground.
Then the ownage begins: Superman turns out to not be Superman at all, but Martian Manhunter in disguise. Once he returns to his normal form he is essentially going "lol you thought you could ever fight Superman".
Now to be fair, the intent was to try to snap him out of the state of mind he was in by showing him how crazy he was acting, and pointing out how out of his mind he would be to actually think he could take on Superman. But still the way they went about doing that was hilarious. If this is how the JLA deals with their internal problems then we immediately need a comic dedicated to that.
