Nah. He survived because Ultimate Reed teleported the Cabal over to the Ultimate Earth just as the explosion went off.

Maybe there's only ONE Beyonder, and he's been creating 'Beyonders' to fight for him. Some are stronger, some are weaker, but he's just having fun. The whole 'child unit' thing is a red herring.

Imo, Marvel could actually save face a bit with such a move. That there never were any real "BeyonderS", just the one and only original Beyonder. The "Beyonders" would be just his creations with wildly varying power levels as he saw fit.

Guys, as far as Marvel is concerned there is no "pre-retcon" Beyonder... There is just Beyonder. This "pre-retcon" title is just non-canon battleboard terminology.

But yeah, the implication certainly appears to be that he is controlling everything behind the scenes.
