I was the first one to call BS on Thor getting humiliated and getting his arm cut off.

Believe it or not, I actually like Thor.

[Unavoidably large, contrary evidence]

Oh this is going to be glorious. "Yield Odin!!!!!".

crylaugh

Can't blame Superman fans though. They're just lashing out because of what DC has turned Superman into:

"Keep dinner warm" lol

Odin getting beaten up by Jane Thor is no where near as bad as being turned into a glorified housewife, lol.

Plus there's that instance of Diana subduing a substantially amped God of Strength Superman, and a transgender character named Porcelain owning Superman.

I don't get why people are happy about this ...

Woman becomes Thor ...
Odin who always almost effortlessly beat Thor is losing to a non warrior nurse with the same powers ...

It's comics. Previously the near exclusive domain of young white males.
Apparently they're making efforts to change that, make it inclusive and welcoming for people previously excluded.

That all by itself, possible evidence that the company has a more varied fan base in mind now, is reason for some to be happy.

I am absolutely fine with Wonder Woman being physically stronger than Superman. I've been fine with that for years. Would that DC were as determined to show her reserved but proud physicality as they were in her early years. With the talents and resources of some of DC's best artists TODAY, it'd be something pleasant and memorable for a great many people.

If Wonder Woman was on average stronger than Superman, it wouldn't be a problem, but alas...

Anyway, this whole discussion needs a proper thread for it. I've been guilty enough of not stopping this turning in to a debate thread, so please, guys, let's get back on track.

Inclusive.... If I never hear that word again, it won't Be long enough. Sounds like some shit your mom would yell at you when you were 8 and ditching your little brother or whatever.

I agree with Pr, Blue's two terrible posts in a row have ruined this discussion beyond redemption. Salvage nothing, abandon ship.

I don't think that's what we'll see. I fully expect that

a) Jane will be subdued
b) be reverted to normal, have it revealed she is a cancer patient, and have that knowledge touch Odin's heart despite himself (for reminding him what true honor and heroism is)

and/or

c) have it revealed that, in addition to the power normally granted to Thor, Jane has at least one more source. Could have impressed someone on the level of Tarene the Designate, Enchantress, the Serpent, or Hela, for instance.
Note, however, that Jane's refusal to allow her body recourse to magical healing to save her life implies that her power will soon be up for grabs for somebody, whether that being be good or ill.

Comics are a garbage medium currently.

I'll stick to Manga and video games. Ironically this shit seemed to start in video games, but it hasn't caught fire like it has in comics. VGs are mostly still in-tact.

Like I said, I'm highly amused at the hypocrisy of the marvel fans.

Is it worse than Thor losing his hammer, title and even name to his ex girlfriend though?

The only bad scene there character wise is the "dinner" incident and even there Superman had the excuse of being depowered and unable to go to fight.

The lasso cleared his mind, it's not like she subdued him physically.

Porcelain used his own durability against him. It's like using Black Alice to lowball Spectre.

But this is what amuses me regarding marvel fans.

That's because gamers are more influential and vocal than comic readers.

I don't know if you heard about the whole Gamergate shit? Gamers came out and said **** you, and leave our shits alone.

At this moment, i believe games are the highest monetary medium in the world as a whole.

There are a few exceptions(namely Green Lantern and Star Wars), but yeah, Marvel and DC are laughably shitty at this point.

That's why people need to wash their hands of the 'big two' and read some quality comics by Indie publishers.
-Anything published by Valiant
-Most things published by Dynamite
-2000AD
-Lazarus
-Elephantmen
-TWD
-Crossed
-Spawn
-Savage Dragon
-Luther Strode
-Invincible
etc. etc.

Any of the above make current Marvel/DC look like they are being written by a 4 year old with Downs. Not joking. 👆

I'm enjoying the hell out of IDW's Godzilla though.

I like Spawn a lot, never got too in-depth in his comic appearances, though I might start.

I've liked Savage Dragon since I was a kid, because of the saturday morning cartoon, but I don't know much of his comics either, also need to remedy that.

You need to be a little disturbed to enjoy crossed that much 😂

Vertigo has two good books out. Unfollow and Jacked. Both are very good. Jacked is pretty damn bloody. Reminds me of a Garth Ennis comic.

Yup. Image is king IMO. Its gotta feel like Disneyland writing there for these writers who go there from Marvel/DC.

Another title that recently started becoming out-phucking-standing is Deadly Class.
