Imo, it's better than Michonne going completely unnoticed just because she had a few inert zombies within a few feet of her. /shrug
Not completely - I think I remember one incident when she had to behead a zombie 'cause it got too close to her. But yeah, the "safe zone" created by 2 mutilated zombies was weird.
I always felt that undead should have paranormal senses, being able to sense the living... Kirkman even hinted about it somewhat, how roamers were attracted to the prison once it got inhabited. Or we could go with the "Abraham explanation", that they simply stayed in one damn place for too long.

TWD has never been better, imo. Everything from "A New Beginning" up to the most current arc/issue has been great.
It's still a great book, no doubt 👆
In fact, it's the only on-going I'm still reading these days.

With the Whisperer "skins" I thought that perhaps they of course wash the inside of the skin but not the outside. So the smell might keep them from constantly detecting the Whisperers. I mean the Whisperers have come close to being detected before. When they speak too much you see one of the uglies turn around.
I'm not sure if imitating the gait helps either. About the prison of course noise makes a difference so who knows perhaps noise attracted them. But of course you would need acute senses.
Slightly off topic but I'm glad Beta is sticking around. He's cool.
Yeah, it looks like some kind of tanning process goes on when the Whisperers prepare a skin suit -- that is likely what keeps them preserved(not unlike animal hides.) If so, they wouldn't retain their odor.
...Or at least that appeared to be the case when Rick and Negan each toured their camp. /shrug
