The annoying thing is these comics aren't any different from the normal. In the sense that they aren't really complex or anything (Ultimates being the most complex I think in terms of abstracts etc). Thor isn't complex, neither is Star Wars.
Just writers thinking things through. It's not as if Ewing, Aaron et al are from another planet. Yet they (Marvel) still put shit through like Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Why even give them writers the jobs. Really bemuses me.

I'm aware of that. I'm talking about the general quality of a comic. For example in DC the quality of the Wonder Woman comic is good but I am not it's biggest fan.
But comics such as Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur are completely rubbish across the board. I don't have to like something to see it's quality. But I get annoyed when Marvel allows such rubbish to be published.

...Did Dredd just drop a f*cking Predator? 😕
Certainly looked to have the better of it although the Pred was back on his feet seemingly no worse for wear on the following page so I dunno how much to read into it. Still, nice showing.
Interestingly enough this series is confirmed as 2000AD Dredd continuity, as the second issue made explicit reference to the Dredd vs Aliens encounter printed in the Megazine. That makes it the first IDW-published story to be set in the main continuity I believe.
Shame it's been a bit of a nothing event so far, the terrible delay for this underwhelming issue hasn't helped either. Considering the kind of brutal war you could write between the three parties, with three out of four issues gone we've had basically... nothing. A good chunk of this issue was boring backstory about a terribly conceived villain that no-one cares about... what a waste of an opportunity.
Cheers.
