You're implying if Gladiator fought back, it would have changed something. One punch took the fight out of him completely (Dude look wrecked imo) and Warbird's statement, plus the entire scene was intended to convey the apparent superiority of the Gods.

Lol what? Jane was rocked true, but she was fine. She took that hit way better than Gladiator did by the looks of it. Where the hell did you get the idea that she couldn't stand?

Jane Thor didn't just take on someone that hit kind of like Odin, she took on Odin himself a few issues ago and did waaaaaaaay better than Gladiator did here.

Gladiator was casually dismissed. The same would happen if he stood up against multiple enemies that Thor has faced under Aaron alone such as Odin or the God Butcher Gorr.

Now don't me wrong, they looked superior to Thor here too by blocking the lighting and rocking her but, and this is entirely subjective, I got the sense that Jane Thor could actually challenge these beings. Gladiator needs their permission to pee. Hopefully he gets more respect though. It's interesting to see how this will play out.

I'm saying THEY for a reason. THEY attacked a Gladiator that wasn't fighting back and the initial attack was a sneak attack.

She punched Jane once and took her out of the fight. Of course she would look better if Gladiator is allowing the pounding and not even attempting to fight back. Jane tried to fight back and was taken out in a single hit. That's the difference between these showings. I know you want She Thor to look good but you don't have to try and make another character look bad because of it.

Umm, actually they came at Gladiator straight ahead. It was a surprise I guess because they seem to catch him off guard but it wasn't a sneak attack. And again, I'm talking about the punch. Jane definitely took the hit way better as Gladiator seemed to be knocked out after he was let go. FYI both gods were approaching Jane when they blocked her lighting.

Again, you say he wasn't fighting back but the whole point of the scene is that they were all helpless in the face of their Gods. Gladiator was paid respect last issue, he's clearly a beast but bro, Thor operates on a higher level when the going gets tough. It's been like that since forever. If the Universe is on the line or immortals are involved, you don't call Gladiator, you call Thor. It's why Steve chose to send Thor against the Builder on Hala instead of anyone else. 🙂

How was she taken out of the fight? Gladiator could barely talk, was bloody and slumped to the floor face first. Jane Thor wasn't even visibly scratched and seemed to be just fine. Being knocked off her feet doesn't mean anything. She has the power of Thor, her stamina and endurance to pain, especially under Aaron is through I'm the roof. She was taking hits from Odin himself and while they hurt, she came back and actually survived. Gladiator would get one-shotted.

But this isn't the thread for this. So let's agree to disagree.

Shows the consistency in comics. Can travel galaxies in a blink of an eye and then gets speedblitzed and caught by surprise

Well, travel speed =/= combat speed.

This wasn't really a 'fight' in either case anyway. On one hand, Gladiator was getting beaten as punishment for apologizing to Jane, in addition the gods were clearly taking out their racist disgust for him while doing so, and he was showing deference by not fighting back. On the other hand, Jane was merely being admonished for breaking protocol - the gods weren't looking to disable her right when the challenges were about to begin. It was a display of power that her attack had no effect and their casual dismissal left her decked.

I think the rest of the story needs to be seen before judging where things are at. But frankly I think they will have to arm themselves with some plot devices or bad writing to take those Shiar down by the end... though more gods are on the way to help.
