I don't understand the confusion. Was there ever any doubt that if it was Surfer vs Mjolnir, he'd break? Granted Surfer being near death made it a lot easier.

Mjolnir was forged in the heart of the Sun and Thor has already fought Gorr in a Sun. Mjolnir is basically indestructible and will survive until the end of time.
